What is Houston Energy and Climate Week?

Houston Energy & Climate Week (HECW) is an annual city-wide festival of events focused on the intersection of energy and climate. Held every September in Houston, Texas, HECW brings together thousands of leaders from industry, government, academia, and civil society for six days of programming.

HECW is modeled after global climate weeks such as New York Climate Week and is a proud member of the Climate Week Network. The week features dozens of independently organized events — panels, workshops, tours, networking receptions, and more — all united under a single brand and calendar.

What makes HECW unique?

• Decentralized programming: Events are organized by companies, nonprofits, universities, and community groups — not just one central organizer.

When does it take place?

HECW 2026 is scheduled for September 13–18, 2026. Past editions were held in September 2023 and September 2024.

Who attends?

Attendees include energy executives, climate scientists, policy makers, investors, entrepreneurs, students, and community advocates. In 2024, HECW attracted thousands of participants from across Houston and beyond.
