Who organizes HECW?

HECW is a volunteer-led initiative guided by a steering committee comprising individuals and organizations from the Houston community. The committee includes: 

• Industry leaders

• Nonprofit representatives, K-12 and Post Secondary academic institutions

• Community organizers

• Climate tech innovators

• Policy advocates

• Media

This collective ensures that HECW reflects the diverse voices and expertise needed.

HECW is fiscally organized by Allies in Energy, a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Allies in Energy’s mission is to forge a community of business leaders, investors, and philanthropists to increase energy and climate literacy education and investments. Through its support, Allies in Energy invests in education to develop the workforce and community that will meet future energy demands.
