How is HECW different than other climate weeks?

Houston is the energy capital of the world, with unparalleled access to corporations, startups, policymakers, international organizations, and innovative funding opportunities, which uniquely positions the city for collaboration.

What is a HEWC Event?

An event refers to any registered activity or gathering that is organized and included as an official part of our events program. These events aim to raise awareness about energy climate issues, foster collaboration among stakeholders, showcase innovative solutions, and encourage action to mitigate climate change. Approved events are listed on our official Houston Energy & Climate Week website and app, receive a license to use all Houston Energy & Climate Week logos, and are promoted on  Allies in Energy and select partner digital and social media channels.

Who organizes HEWC?

HECW is a volunteer-led initiative guided by a steering committee comprising individuals and organizations from the Houston community. The committee includes:

  • Nonprofit representatives, K-12 and Post Secondary academic institutions

  • Community organizers

  • Climate tech innovators

  • Policy advocates

  • Media

This collective ensures that HECW reflects the diverse voices and expertise needed .

HECW is fiscally sponsored by Allies in Energy, a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. How does it work?

The ethos of Houston Energy & Climate Week mirrors the collaborative leadership seen in cities such as London, San Francisco, and New York. Events are self-organized and registered on our calendar, fostering collective ownership and active participation.
